About Us
Most people think they know African food, though they’ve never actually felt it. But for too long, our flavors have been a mystery or, worse, a total caricature. Therefore, I opened The Jollof Place to change the narrative.
My name is Joy, and I don't just cook to feed people. I cook to show affection. But you can’t show affection with bland ingredients. Therefore, our Jollof rice literally announces itself the moment you walk through the door.
It’s the soul of West Africa in a pot.
They say a party without Jollof is just a meeting. But we wanted to give you more than just a party. Therefore, we brought the heat of Nigerian Suya and the warmth of ginger-infused Pepper Soup to the heart of Almere.
It’s what I like to call "healthy hedonism."
However, it’s not just about the spice or the golden plantains......It’s about the human element. Therefore, we’re bringing the heart of African hospitality to the Netherlands.
